課程概述 |
資訊組織是藉由描述資訊物件（information objects）之載體與內容，建立代表原件之替代記錄(surrogate / representation)，並予以系統化的組織，建置成檢索工具，以幫助使用者依其資訊需求查詢、檢索、辨識、評估、及查知資料所在。針對資訊物件之載體與內容建立具辨識性的替代記錄及系統性的查詢機制，可說是資訊組織的兩項基本概念。「資訊組織一」課程著重於資訊描述及建立檢索點，「資訊組織二」課程則以資訊物件之內容主題的分析與呈現為主。本課程旨在幫助學習者瞭解主題分析的意義及相關概念，主題分析包含兩項基本步驟，一是圖書資料的主題內容的分析確認(subject analysis)，一是將確認的內容透過轉譯以適當的方式呈現(subject representation)。 |

課程目標 |
修習本課程之後，學生將具備以下能力：
1. 對各類型知識組織系統(knowledge organization systems)有基本認識。
2. 了解並應用國內外圖書館較常用的中文圖書分類法：中文圖書分類法、杜威十進分類法 (Dewey Decimal Classification, DDC)、美國國會圖書館分類法 (Library of Congress Classification, LCC)、美國國會圖書館標題 (Library of Congress Subject Headings, LCSH)。
3. 結合「資訊組織一」之記述編目課程內容，能夠獨立完成書籍編目工作。 |
